The aim of the project is to develop and improve flood risk management in the Czech-Saxon border region. The main goal of the project is to contribute to the reduction of risks caused by floods and extreme precipitation. It aims at more effective design of preventive measures by deepening the analysis of typical damage functions on residential buildings and infrastructure. The implementation of flood prevention at border water courses is to be further improved. The STRIMA II project follows the STRIMA project implemented on 7/2013 - 2/2015.

Main planned project results:

  • Methodologies for reducing flood damage to residential buildings, infrastructure and the environment
  • Pilot evaluation of a model area in the Oleška River Basin. Proposal of conceptual measures leading to the reduction of the effects of floods and droughts
  • Processing and evaluation of economic impacts of floods - environmental damage
  • Improving communication and information procedures and technologies for the population
